lamb of god, slain will be.
In spite of their often “controversial” nature, Grand Belial’s Key are one of my all time favorite bands. From their uniquely catchy, imminently musical approach to song composition to their eye-catching album art, which often featured the vile visage of Jesus Christ adorned in corpsepaint, GBK played by their own rules. In the process, the band crafted some of the finest black metal ever put to tape, specifically the classic 2001 album, Judeobeast Assassination.
Fortunately, a great deal of the band’s untouchable legacy lives on in the equally infamous Arghoslent, who are essentially the death metal version of GBK, thanks to the presence of former guitarist Gelal Necrosodomy, aka Pogrom. Their recent album, Hornets of the Pogrom is some of the best death metal you’re likely to hear this year.
Forget all the bullshit you’ve read about these bands and check them out for yourself.
